Darning Egg
Darning Egg
A darning egg is an egg-shaped tool, which is inserted into the toe or heel of the sock to hold it in the proper shape and provide a foundation for making repairs.
This Darning Egg is hand-turned in a either Cherry, Maple or Walnut wood.
It measures approximately 7" long and 2" in diameter.
It is hand sanded to an extremely fine finish, assuring a smooth surface to prevent snags or pulls in your yarn.
A hand-rubbed finish brings out the natural beauty of the wood.
It is a replica of an antique darning egg from my Mother-in-law.
